The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass Review

Monday, March 31st, 2008

This edition of Zelda for the DS lite is the sequel to the Gamecube’s Wind Waker and features the same big, cartoony graphics. The DS lite, however, does a fantastic job with the graphics here, and everything from enemy details to character expressions are noticeable. Even though Link has to travel from island to island like in the Wind Waker, a handy steam ship helps to make this much faster and less boring. The game functions much like any other Zelda series, with dungeons and puzzles making up the core of the game. The game makes full use of the DS Lite’s touch screen and much of the controlling is primarily accomplished using the stylus. The reviewer finds this control form to be a hassle, while I actually find it to be quite easy and intuitive. The video review from X-Play does a great job of showing what is another strong addition to the Zelda franchise and a must-have for any DS Lite owner.

Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess Review

Sunday, December 3rd, 2006

GTTV Reviews Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess for the Nintendo Wii.  I’m going to start adding Nintendo Wii game reviews when I can’t seem to find game reviews for the DS Lite.

The newest Zelda game, The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess is a love letter to anyone who has enjoyed a Zelda game.  The story in Twilight Princess is thought provoking and at the same time fairly typical for the series.  If you’ve played a single Zelda game then you know it’s ultimately going to boil down to three characters.  How Twilight Princess gets there is smart and unexpected.  Not only is Twilight Princess is the best Nintendo Wii launch game, it is easily one of the greatest games ever created.  They give it a 9.2 for story, 10 for gameplay, 9.6 for design and an overall score of 9.7.
