Atlus brings Steal Princess to North America

Friday, January 23rd, 2009

Steal Princess was announced for North America by Atlus USA. Steal Princess is an interesting hybrid of puzzle and platformer. Mission involves redefining a pair of genres and breaking the mold.

Unique Nintendo DS puzzle platformer is coming to North America. Every level offers unmatched challenges. After completing all the levels, you as a player can get creative and design your own levels including placement of enemies, maps, setting conditions for victory and construction of platforms that move, etc. Meanwhile, the graphics and animation are reminiscent of other Atlus titles like Puyo Pop Fever. You can also share your creations with those who are playing with you online with the help of the Wi-Fi support offered by Nintendo.

The palace of the Ancient Demon King is thought to be uninhabited. Anise is the young thief who discovers something shocking while exploring. It is inhabited with demons. During the course of her exploration, a booby trap is triggered off and runs for dear life, escaping to be plunged into the menacing river.

While exploring the thought-to-be-long-abandoned palace of the Ancient Demon King, the young thief Anise stumbles upon a startling discovery: the palace isn’t abandoned at all, and it’s crawling with demons, no less! Equally startling is the deadly booby trap she triggers in the process of opening a locked door. She barely outruns the giant boulder bearing down on her, escaping the palace only to fall into a surging river, unconscious.

Awakening in the king’s company, Anise discovers that the Prince has been kidnapped by the demons and sets out on a mission to find him. With excellent graphics and interesting features this game is all set to take the world of the Nintendo DS Lite by storm

Master of the Monster lair: Soon on your DS screens

Thursday, July 24th, 2008

Known for developing the role playing series ‘Shin Megami Tensei’, Atlus is now going to unleash its new exciting game, Master of the Monster Lair, for the Nintendo DS Lite. This game will soon be released later this year. The goal of the game is to build your dungeon to attract monsters and then ultimately trap and hunt those monsters. In the game you play the role of a young man who lives in a kingdom rife in terror as the monsters rampage around the land filling their hungry stomachs with people.

You quickly encounter a talking Shovel in the game that takes you on a heroic path. Yes, a talking shovel will recruit you to build indoor dungeons to lure and trap the roving monsters that are creating nuisances in the town. To construct the dungeon there are 20 dissimilar rooms which include chapels, dojos, cellars, stables, fireplaces, trash dumps and plenty more. You can later explore the rooms while killing monsters for weapons and other important things. Each room attracts different kinds of monsters with different kinds of objects.

You can show your power packed performance and hot moves to the monsters and fight against them in a turn-based mode. Although based on monsters, the game will definitely have to struggle to create the same success of Monster Hunter: Freedom 2 for the PSP. The game’s distinctive dungeon-customization system and Wi-Fi functionality offer a truly unique monster fighting experience.

Chat with “Pictochat” on DS Lite

Monday, June 23rd, 2008

The DS Lite is a highly sophisticated gaming console that has taken over the minds and hearts of the young generation. It is equipped with superb features and one can play it non-stop. One of its inbuilt unique features is the “Pictochat”. So, what it is all about? You can use it to chat with your DS Lite. How? On one of the screen of DS Lite a keyboard is displayed which you can use to write anything you want to say.

The message that you write on one of the dual screens gets displayed on the other screen and is answered by a WiFi network from the one you are chatting with. Similarly, you can write anything that you want to and chat with your friends. The DS Lite Pictochat is a great feature for the handheld, apart from its stupendous games. Now, you can chat with one or more as there are different chat rooms available. Chatting is fun and can keep you glued to your DS Lite screen for long hours. Unfortunately, one can only chat with other Nintendo DS owners using Pictochat, and not with other people on their laptop or computer. Apart from playing games one can refresh his/her mind by chatting on DS Lite. So, if you are getting bored and want to chat with someone start chatting!

Diary Girl on DS…

Wednesday, May 7th, 2008

Diary GirlRemember the BMW Convertible series? — The actual Automobile series. The thing about it was that the design was like love-it or hate-it types. Diary Girl developed by Konami is like that too — actually, it doesn’t even look like a game. Konami must have done a painstaking analysis on this one before launching the game. It would have thought of what a young girl probably in her teens would be thinking. It looks like a PDA more than a game and reeks of the girly pink color– this might put off some people(who aren’t girls, although girls who don’t like pink aren’t a problem. But do they exist?)

We did call it a PDA type thingy, but it doesn’t come anywhere close to the sheer effectiveness or capabilities of a PDA: The maximum length of the text that can be input is probably around 160 characters - -just as much as an SMS message on your phone. The good thing is people will have to learn to be precise and not verbose, but the bad is that it can be extremely frustrating. It is enabled with password access and also has a calendar (the PDA, remember?)

Equipped with goodies like a painting program and the ability to add animated smileys and such like, it is a thing your girl is going to be proud to own. What’s more, it even has the capability of letting users chat using VoIP protocol, which works through the DS Wi-Fi Connection. Imaging your daughter owning a communication medium that lets her communicate using VoIP — now who can boast of that?

Added to all of that — now we would come close to the real gaming part — there are scores of quizzes, games, horoscopes and all trivia that girls usually like and go soft in the knees for — we warned you, you will either love it or hate it.

An amazing buy for your daughter and a thing that can make her get busy and look sophisticated enough to beat some corporate executives even, when it comes to being connected and being “productive”.
