Master of the Monster Lair from Atlus

Wednesday, February 4th, 2009

Master of the Monster Lair is a very interesting game. This game is developed and published by Atlus. It is a turn based role-playing game but within a short span of time it has found a place among the favourites of kids. In this game, a player is placed into the shoes of a young boy who builds a dungeon to save the town from the hands of monsters. He builds this dungeon to attract them so that he can bring them down.

To reach the next level all you have to do is to defeat the video game boss. On defeating the boss you can gain access to the next level. The first task entrusts the players to build rooms for the beasts, so that they can attract them and start the quest.

The players should also collect the trophies needed to cross the level and this aspect makes the game more interesting. In the middle of the game, goblins might come and scare you, so be ready to tackle them. In the middle of the game, you may come into contact with a Mimic Slime. This Mimic Slime has the ability to repeat the attacks of monsters that you encounter. They are of great use during these circumstances and will produce counter attacks to scare the monsters.

Build a strategy to make the level yours and employ it at the right time and this will ensure your victory. As far as the graphics are concerned, this game follows the typical cute/anime-like Japanese animation found in other Atlus games, such as Luminous Arc. Perhaps the best part of Master of the Monster Lair from Atlus is collecting trophies, which requires a great deal of skill. So enjoy playing Master of Monster Lair.

Tuesday, January 13th, 2009

Sid Meier’s Civilization series has always focussed on building an empire to face the challenges. The fun of these turn-based strategies is once again back in the form of Sid Meier’s Civilization Revolution. Published by 2K games and developed by Firaxis Games, this simulation game is based on an engrossing theme.

Before you begin with the game, you have to choose your preference from the 16 civilizations in total. Whichever one you choose, you will get some bonuses. These gamming bonuses will rise as you progress towards your goal of building a civilization. You will get a starting bonus as well as the four era bonuses to help you in achieving the target. Now, a victory in Civilization Revolution basically has four different categories that consist of cultural, economic, domination and technological phases. Every type has a different condition for the victory and your civilization –based bonuses will assist you in fulfilling these requirements. Every civilization offers great fun and engrossing plot of growing your empire while defeating the foes.

Just select your civilization and enter a whole new world. As soon as you get into your first city, you will see the icons, representing all that you need to plan your empire. The squares that indicate production, food and trade are the basic resources for moving ahead. While food is essential for ensuring the growth of your population, production deals with construction work and trade is meant for earning money.

So gear up and get ready to explore new cities, build units and get in touch with some other leaders. All in all, you will do everything that a civilization’s leader is required to do.

Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon coming soon

Monday, October 20th, 2008

Since 1990, Japanese players have enjoyed the turn-based games of the Fire Emblem series. Originally a Famicom game, Fire Emblem gained popularity in America with its availability on the GBA in 2003. The latest news regarding the series is related with its DS version, namely, Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon, which is purely a remake of the original. The Japanese fans, however, will again be the first to try their hands on the game as it is already available in their country. For others, Shadow Dragon is expected to arrive in the first half of 2009.

It is just a matter of some more time and gamers all over the globe will experience the fun of controlling a turn-based war on their DS Lite screens. Although the Shadow Dragon carries certain similarities with the Advance Wars, the four-part preface and sharing options are amazing. With the wireless modes, you can share the game with a friend to test your calibre and double the excitement.

The game takes you to the land of Altea where you meet Prince Marth. Anyone who is a fan and player of Super Smash Bros. should be familiar with the name. The introduction is divided in four parts in order to allow you to familiarise yourself with the game mechanics and begin with Mark’s mission. As the player you have to assist Mark, who is caught in a traumatic situation. All this begins with a trusted person who betrays Mark’s father and becomes a threat to his family. You have to guide the prince in getting out of the castle in the initial stage of the prologue. This effort takes a tragic direction because Mark’s sister and mother, along with others, are left behind.

Get ready to use your stylus control and touch screen to help Mark in solving his quest as Shadow Dragon is just a few months away from your DS.
