Ford Racing 3: Fairly Basic Racing Game on the DS

Sunday, May 10th, 2009

Ford Racing 3 is a fairly basic racing game on the Nintendo DS. This interesting game loads fast, in fact within three clicks. This is a game that provides for straightforward fun without resorting to too many gimmicks. The whole setting is simple. All you have to do as a player is to race six cars on the track and try to win.

There have been a lot of games that have tried various stunts and manoeuvres including getting cars to slip on banana peels. This game is more realistic not resorting to any fancy alternations.

Various race options offered in this interesting game include the Multiplayer, Collection, Challenge, Competition and Quick Race. Ford Racing 3 DS does not require the players to do any kind of setting up. All you have to do is to take off on your race on the course with a random car. For example, in the Quick Race mode, there are a variety of cars. As you jump into the race you get to handle a car you have never handled before and it adds to the fun and excitement.

In the Competition mode, you will be striving to unlock tracks, vehicles and trophies. There are three races in a total of fourteen events on offer in this mode. Players have to change their vehicles with different competitions. Vehicles include the Vintage, Performance, Modern, Off Road and Classics vehicles. No matter which type of vehicle you use, the speed with which you race around the track trying to overtake the other cars is really exciting and thrilling. This game is perfect for all those racing fans.

Shaun White Snowboarding: A blending of outrageous stunts with fickle Challenges

Friday, January 9th, 2009

It seems the developers of the game Shaun White Snowboarding have done enough research on its gameplay, since the user response to the game has been really positive. The game apparently seems to have exploited Nintendo’s handheld set-up, as you are now in better control of the entire scheme of things, more so because you no have a much more responsive touch screen which virtually elevates the gaming experiences. During the course of the game you find yourself coming face to face with a haze of peculiar but interesting situations, and you have to leap, trick and grind your way down the slopes. The other components of the game are not as imaginative, but that does not take away the overall satisfying feel that accompanies you when playing this portable snowboarding game; which is, by the way, the best ever launched on the Nintendo DS.

A factor that has contributed to the popularity of the game is the ease with which you can get acquainted with the controls and be your own master. In the beginning you start off with an outline of a snowboard on the touch screen. The stylus plays an important part in Shaun White Snowboard, as it allows you to manipulate your turns and moves, and the pace with which you move as well. One thing however needs to be emphasized that the game is not a very technical one, and in case someone is looking for a more technical snowboarding game they may do well to look elsewhere. The Shaun White Snowboarding is more in the line of a fantasy game where you can pull off outrageous stunts with insane ease, and where realism is really thrown to the wind.

The game comprises of four mountains that you need to cover so as to progress through the game, and ultimately find out Shaun White from his secret hiding space and race against him. You are also required to collect passes which, a bit surprisingly, assist you in winning races and challenges. You are supposed to test your acumen and dexterity while pitted against three AI riders to win races. But ironically enough, battles are ridiculously one sided with you winning each one of them hands down thereby ripping of an important element of the game.
