Puzzle Quest: Galactrix on the Nintendo DS
Tuesday, February 24th, 2009Galactrix offers a serious game interspersed with periodical humorous episodes. Mega corporations numbering four rise from the ashes of the destroyed Earth. Each one of them tries their best to take control of mankind. Their aim is to wander in space and try to find life. There are myriad cultures and races living in galaxies all over the universe. Years later, the events of this game take shape after the firm establishment of mankind among aliens.
In Galactrix, you are just offered two players to choose from namely, the male and female pilot. Players may find this a little disappointing. In the quick moving game of Puzzle Quest: Galactrix, you are taken through a couple of tutorials. Crew members join you and you go about chasing a genetic experiment. This element of mystery takes you through a quest of locating the experiment that resulted in the murder of a whole crew.
As a player you go around the galaxy fighting battles on the puzzle field and accepting side quests and missions. As you play the puzzle game, you are required to match rows of three gems which are hexagonal shaped. The puzzle game as such is very challenging as compared to the older Bejeweled.
Spells are replaced with items on the ship which help you with your effort to provide a boost in your abilities or preventing your opponent from advancing. Sell cargo earned by mining on planets or complete quests to earn credits with which you can purchase the items. For all those PQ fans, Galactrix is surely addictive. Enjoy hours of fun and excitement playing this absorbing game on your favourite DS Lite.
