Hannah Montana DS Game for Miley Cyrus Fans

Sunday, May 31st, 2009

Miley Cyrus must be thrilled at hearing this. After conquering television and then motion picture, her character of Hannah Montana seems to have gone a notch higher. Miley, who hit stardom a few years ago when the Disney channel cast her in the dual role of Miley Stewart/Hannah Montana is one of the most familiar faces in America with experience in song writing, acting and vocals. Now with the development of Hannah Montana for the DSLite, her image and status is all set to get another shot in the arm. The theme behind the game is that inexplicable outsiders pose as a threat in revealing the truth behind the alter ego of Miley. The game is fun and has quite a hilarious take on the show of Hannah Montana. The game starts off with Miley waking up one fine morning and seeing a note which threatens her that somebody knows her true identity and would reveal it to Malibu and the whole world.

The rest of the game is about Miley trying to trace out the person behind the mysterious note and protecting her true identity. There are a total of five environments in Malibu that can be explored and these have a pivotal role in the three episodes featured in the Hannah Montana DS game. Miley keeps navigating from her school to the boardwalk, then into the shopping mall and finally the concert stadium. She meets a lot of people during her journey and almost all the stars of the television series are depicted. An uncanny element has also been included in the game with Miley being put into confusion as even an ally could turn out to be the person in question! Play the Nintendo DS game if you have been a fan of the sitcom and you will enjoy the experience.

Hotel for Dogs: Average DS Game based on the Film

Wednesday, April 8th, 2009

Hotel For Dogs at IGN.com

Hotel for Dogs on Nintendo DS is an average game based on a family friendly film. In this game Andi, Bruce and their friends are helped by players in their bid to transform a dilapidated and abandoned hotel into a comfortable place for stray dogs. As a player, you will be performing various tasks such as rescuing stray dogs, taking care of their various requirements and building gadgets for them. There is nothing exciting or challenging.

While the Wii version of this game comes with clippings from the film, the DS version has no scenes and it just moves on with a quick pace from chapter to chapter. Transition from one chapter to another is quite confusing with new characters and dogs added in just like that.

Gameplay is quite dull with playing, feeding and cleaning dogs involves only a click of the mouse. There is no actual substance and depth to it. Unlike simulation games, here there is no long term monitoring of your pets.

Most part of the game you are seeking and finding. You go around doing Andi’s and Bruce’s bidding, including finding parts for the gadgets. Controls are quite cumbersome and imprecise adding to the woes of players. The chapters in Hotels for Dogs DS are too easy to complete eliminating any motivating factor. All you do is keep completing tasks without an aim. The element of fun is completely missing.

Lack of rewards, mediocre visuals and sub standard controls make the Hotel for Dogs game really nothing much to talk about and you are better off sticking only to the Hotel for Dogs movie.

Alternately the whole thing can be rotated in 3D space by moving the stylus over the empty area. The Rubik’s Puzzle World game can be started and your skill can be tested with the randomly mixed up cube or the pristine cube. The game offers certain patterns which you can try to solve too.

The seven mini games are entertaining and fun to play. In the game of Fit, there is a descending platform with holes. As a player you create large spaces within individual colored cubes and try to fit them into the holes. Enjoy playing the sliding puzzle game called Switch. Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia

Tuesday, November 4th, 2008

Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia is the latest game of the Castlevania series on the DS Lite. After the success of Symphony of the Night, Konami was unable to feature innovation in the succeeding releases. However, Order of Ecclesia is designed with the objective and intent to revive the fading series.

The wide-ranging boss battles and the streamlined level designs are among the most appealing features of the platform genre. The backgrounds and musical score are immensely successful in creating an apprehensive mood that is essential for a battle. Moreover, the versatile combat system is enough for providing a rewarding experience.

The gamers play with the ultimate goal of killing a parasitical vampire, but they do not have an access to the legendary whip. This is because in Castlevania - Order of Ecclesia you play as Shanoa, who is not included in the Belmont clan. As such, you have to depend on an alternative resource: power from the bodies of foes. You steal this magic in the form of glyphs that can be transformed into weapons like swords and lances. Additionally, there are also some powerful spells to assist you in the battle of defeating Dracula. So you can navigate through the walls, use your batlike skills and the glyph system to overpower the evil.

If you are disappointed with the previous Castlevania games, you must not miss the Order of Ecclesia, as it will perk up your interest in the amusing series again

There is a wide variety of wild and farm animals available for you to fight with. If you opt for a single-player game, you can play as a male of a female person. On the other hand, in a two-player game, you can choose to be an animal or a human. Whichever mode you choose, you should not forget to check the small power-ups like a chocolate bar to provide a dose of energy.

Moreover, there is a career mode, where you can control the destiny of a human boxer created by you. To further enhance the fun, you can use a wireless connection to exchange blows with the boxer created by your friend. Brace yourself with the boxing gloves to knock the teeth out of all those animals that have ever crossed your way.
