Enjoy Harvest Moon for the DS Lite

Tuesday, January 20th, 2009

Harvest Moon, the exciting game on DS features the Witch Princess whose prank on the Harvest Goddess she hates sends her spinning to a different world altogether. You as a player will help the Witch Princess along with Harvest Sprites appointed by her to locate the Goddess.

You have to interact with people of the Forget-Me-Not valley, do a lot of work on their farm and locate the Goddess. After the job is completed the sprites too are sent back to their world.

Weed overrun farms and some tools are all you start the game with. Name of the farm, name of your pet like dog or cat and character can be chosen by you. You have to perform certain chores as Harvest Moon DS is centred around farming activities. As you complete your objective, sprites will appear to take you to their hut. Watering can, hoe, hammer, axe and sickle are some of the tools at your disposal to assist you with farming chores.

Just three buildings are present including your hut, another hut and a stable. To add new buildings, call on the telephone woodcutter Gotz from the game house. You can buy stuff like chickens, seeds and cows by calling up other shops over the phone.

Animals at Harvest Moon are given a lot of importance. They provide a lot of produce and you can sell them to make a lot of money. Festivals are held in their honour. In order to interact with an animal, you will have to purchase a pair of touch panel gloves from a character. With the help of the stylus, you can interact with animals that appear at the bottom of the screen.

Enjoy a complete life right from getting married to a woman. Gain important points by doing your farming right.

Excellent graphics add to the excitement and with the help of the instruction manual, you can learn quite a few tactics. On the whole, this is an interesting and exciting game on DS Lite.

Rune Factory 2: A Fantasy Harvest Moon

Wednesday, October 1st, 2008

You landed in the Island of Happiness in the Harvest Moon, but that was only the beginning. In Rune Factory 2: A Fantasy Harvest Moon you return to continue the adventure. Get ready for new and exciting adventures and to explore more on the Island. The two games look alike in terms of style and game mechanics. Moreover, both games are based on the Japanese role playing system with life-stimulating gameplay.

The previous game required you to initiate a lot of things…like building a farm and entering into new ventures. Moreover, the game is set on an island, instead of in outer space, for example, like Harvest Moon: Innocent Life. Now, the basics are done and you have to work towards survival. Having landed in the role of a young boy, Raguna, the player is placed in an unknown town. Raguna quickly gets work at a farm while getting friendly with a girl called Mist. Raguna’s hard work is rewarded with a piece of land, thereby initiating fresh life in the town of Kardia. The boy is supposed to sow seeds, water the crops, along with performing all other chores of a farmer. Work is vital for maintaining a living, but companionship is just as important. Moving onto this significant phase, our hero ties the knot of marriage with his girlfriend, which also lays a foundation for the next phase of the game. His responsibilities as a husband are soon multiplied with the hero becoming a father of two.

The game invites you to live a complete life along with enjoying some great features. You will particularly enjoy the on- the fly-menu-system, which will not hamper the flow of your game. Try your hands on Rune Factory 2 and enter the shoes of Raguna.

How about Constructing a Farm?

Wednesday, September 3rd, 2008

Harvest Moon: Island of Happiness is a new game available exclusively for the Nintendo DS. It is an adventurous game, and latest edition to the already popular Harvest Moon series. If the idea of crafting a farm in a lonely island thrills you, then this game is for you. The series will take you to the sea, where you get shipwrecked….but the game doesn’t want you to fight with all those sea giants, instead you have to start a new life on a deserted island.

Along with exploring the mysteries of previous life on the island, you have to build a new farm with your pals to start life afresh. Other Harvest Moon games are set in different scenarios, such as Harvest Moon: Innocent Life, which is set in the future. To begin this version of the game, you have to select among a male or a female character, and start the action as you reach the island. You will be accompanied by Tarou, the old timer, his daughter Felena, along with her two kids: Eric and Natalie. The island is completely deserted as of now, but there are some traces of life on it in the past.

So what would you like to do next? Have a Sun-bath on the island….probably not because the game wants you to work with your friends for the betterment of this place. First of all, you have to build up a farm for yourself. This will be followed by the entry of people interested in farming business. So the commercial phase of the island begins, further enhanced by the set up of shops and other facilities. However, all that is not enough to make it an Island of Happiness, so you also have people of the opposite sex to get friendly with. You can communicate with them regularly, give presents to develop the relationship, with has the absolute goal of tying the knot of marriage.
