Wednesday, August 13th, 2008

After the huge success of Spectrobes in 2007, Disney Interactive Studios is all set to release its sequel Spectrobes II: Beyond the Portals for the Nintendo DS. This sequel has a wealth of new features, including an entirely new story. The story has a three-dimensional perspective, complete with a map to assist with exploration and new excavation. The story features a battle with some creepy creatures that would certainly fit the definition of a new style of anime.

Spectrobes II: Beyond the Portals, is an action role-playing game that continues the story of interplanetary patrol officers, Rallen and Jeena, who not only discover or excavate, but also awake and train strange fossilized creatures that are called Spectrobes. The Spectrobes are then trained to battle enemies. The story of the game surrounds the origin of mysterious portals that are connected to remote dimensions and Spectrobes. In spite of Rallen possessing the power to fight lesser krawl outside of the vortexes, he does not take part in the vortex battles. Meanwhile, Jenna uses her research and technological skills to solve puzzles and helps in completing the missions.

The game seems to have adept fighting controls and a new technology that makes it fun to play. Spectrobes, the monster hunting RPG, is targeted at a younger audience, just like most other monster capturing games. Since the first Spectrobes (Nintendo DS) was a massive hit among its fans, expectations are high for its sequel, Spectrobes: Beyond the Portals, which is going to be unveiled in autumn 2008.
