Your excitement levels will take flight, while your dexterity will be put to a severe test as the game comes packaged with a new adventure to boot wherein you can really immerse yourselves. The franchise series has always been known for pushing the envelope and helping to redefine action adventure games. The story of the game is an original and independent one and explores the labyrinth of deserted cities, forbidding jungles; et al. Gamers will especially love the fact that the game has that realistic and dramatic feel encompassing it, which is an indispensable part of a games success story. The art design game, in particular, is a real treat and is the one which holds the gameplay together.

The game starts with the Prince who flees the kingdom facing imminent danger, and lends up in a deserted kingdom that looks serine, but is in fact gripped with evil and dark forces. The Prince finds himself in a real quagmire, and is also confounded by many creatures that he meets along the way to salvation as he fails to identify if they are his friends or are enemy in disguise. It is a really intriguing game that you would like to explore and find out what happens to the poor little prince.

Tomb Raider Underworld: Lara’s New Action Move

Tuesday, October 14th, 2008

As an action protagonist, Lara Croft is one people’s favourite gaming characters. Lara is soon coming to DS Lite screens in her latest adventure: Tomb Raider Underworld. Set to be released in November, this game developed by Crystal dynamics and published by Eidos Interactive will feature Lara as an innovator. Dressed in a fitted wetsuit, Lara will use her powers to revel the secret of the Thorn’s Hammer.

Lara’s journey begins on the Mediterranean Sea floor, where she learns about the legendary Thorn’s Hammer. Once familiar with the truth that the enchanted weapon is not a myth, Lara begins her adventure. In order to succeed in Tomb Raider: Underworld, our dear Lara will have to face the tentacles of a kraken. This sea monster is there to shield the secret of the hammer and acts as the greatest obstruction in Lara’s cause. The players have huge spikes as a means to fight the demon. These big chunks of spikes can be dropped on the kraken’s head to drive him away.

Moving onto technicalities, the first thing to be mentioned is the ultimate graphical approach. Lara and other characters look very realistic. This improved vision is a result of the vertex shading and the contextual animation. Background and some new gadgets make the game even more likeable. The sonar map and the speedy motorcycle especially enhance the game’s appeal and assist Lara in her adventure

Time Hollow: Solve the Mystery

Friday, September 26th, 2008

Time Hollow, A new game by Konami, is an entertaining adventure game based on the point-and-click style of the DS Lite. The game centres around a schoolboy named Ethan Kairos, who has lost his family. The player plays as Ethan, who is desperately looking for his parents who suddenly vanished on his 17th birthday.

Now the only helpful thing this young boy has is his hollow pen, which can actually change everything that happened in the past. Moreover, there are some flashbacks to assist you in identifying missing persons. In his quest to find his lost family, players use the hollow pen to figure out the connection between the past and the present. You will have to talk to other characters, solve puzzles and collect clues, making this game something of an adventure title along the lines of Myst. The most important object in the game remains the hollow pen, which lets Ethan solve the problems of the past. The DS Lite style essentially assumes the role of the all important hollow pen and controls this mysterious truth revealing object.

The gameplay in Time Hollow often involves some clever puzzles, which will truly test your brains. Another outstanding and exciting factor is the role of the pen in “digging” the universe to look into the past. Overall, Time Hollow is an entertaining and engrossing game, with great graphics from the AIC studio along with many interesting characters. So what are you waiting for? Grab the game and use the magical pen to communicate with the past.

Spectrobes II: What’s beyond the Portals?

Wednesday, August 13th, 2008

After the huge success of Spectrobes in 2007, Disney Interactive Studios is all set to release its sequel Spectrobes II: Beyond the Portals for the Nintendo DS. This sequel has a wealth of new features, including an entirely new story. The story has a three-dimensional perspective, complete with a map to assist with exploration and new excavation. The story features a battle with some creepy creatures that would certainly fit the definition of a new style of anime.

Spectrobes II: Beyond the Portals, is an action role-playing game that continues the story of interplanetary patrol officers, Rallen and Jeena, who not only discover or excavate, but also awake and train strange fossilized creatures that are called Spectrobes. The Spectrobes are then trained to battle enemies. The story of the game surrounds the origin of mysterious portals that are connected to remote dimensions and Spectrobes. In spite of Rallen possessing the power to fight lesser krawl outside of the vortexes, he does not take part in the vortex battles. Meanwhile, Jenna uses her research and technological skills to solve puzzles and helps in completing the missions.

The game seems to have adept fighting controls and a new technology that makes it fun to play. Spectrobes, the monster hunting RPG, is targeted at a younger audience, just like most other monster capturing games. Since the first Spectrobes (Nintendo DS) was a massive hit among its fans, expectations are high for its sequel, Spectrobes: Beyond the Portals, which is going to be unveiled in autumn 2008.
