Want to play with volatile Penguins?

Monday, August 11th, 2008

Knock! Knock! Wake up Nintendo sweeties and welcome Disgaea on your DS later this year. Yes, you can now experience the adventure on your handheld. The role playing game not only has a host of terrific characters, but also has a plethora of gameplay elements which are unique and amusing. In the game you play the role of Laharl, a king’s son who wakes up from a 2 year old snooze only to discover that his father has died, and his throne and palace have been conquered by the demons.

Laharl along with Etna, another character, venture off to get back what rightfully belongs to him. The game has a bunch of deadly penguins that perform ballerina pirouettes and explode them when tossed. The game world has also been adapted from Disgaea 2, which is a PlayStation 2 game made by the same developers. The story consists mainly of fighting with a handful of dialogue in between. You can create your own customized person who can accompany you in the battlefield and that’s where the dark assembly comes into play.

Disgaea DS is akin to other strategic role-playing games where you plot, fix your characters and give them commands. However, it introduces geo panels on the battlefield where you can cover the terrain with special effects. This cute and funny game offers a great story, as well as immersive gameplay.

This role- playing game developed by BioWare will let you enjoy exploration and combat at the same time, allowing you to first control the character and later fight the battles.

Sonic comes with his team in the second act stepping out into a new area in order to save their world from a new threat. Let’s Experiment in the Lab!

Friday, July 25th, 2008

I know you hated those perplexed chemical equations in your science classes and doing labs, but if you haven’t tried your hands on experimenting with anything since, then you should at least take a look at the Nintendo DS Lite Monster Lab game. Eidos has come out with ‘Monster lab’, a title which is a true blend of RPG and fighting genre. In this game you play the role of a novice scientist who lives in a bizarre valley but who creates a monster that is then set out into the world to combat against other evil monsters who have taken over the land.

These evil monsters are an amalgamation of three major sciences- evil robotics, evil biology and evil alchemy. As you gain experience by eliminating other monsters and stealing their parts in Monster Lab (Nintendo DS), you’ll get to learn all of the three sciences. You may mix and match head, arms, legs, torso or any part of the body to make your own monster. You are transported to the combat mode the moment you touch your enemy or vice-versa on the underworld map.

If the monster gets hurt then you can go back to the lab at any point of time and fix your monster. Monster fights are done in a quite extraordinary manner. Add this game to your pre-existing wealth of games when it gets released later this year.
