The Seventh Edition of the Arcade Classic Metal Slug is coming soon to the DS Lite
Originally developed by SNK and released on classic arcade machines, the Metal Slug series has since branched out with numerous sequels on practically every gaming platform, including the PS2, Xbox 360, GBA and DS Lite. As a pure run and gun game filled with action and adrenaline, the title is perfectly suited for handheld consoles, and Metal Slug 7 is in fact currently being exclusively developed for the Nintendo DS.
The first screenshots, downloads, trailers and other goodies for Metal Slug fans have been released as the website recently officially came online. The website includes exhaustive information on playable characters, including favourites from other Metal Slug titles, like Marco Rossi, Tarma Roving or Eri Kasamoto, but information on gameplay improvements and changes is still lacking. However, judging from the screenshots and trailers the graphics are at least top notch for a 2D game, while retaining the same old arcade feel. Fans of the addicting arcade classic can visit the brand new website to find out more, and take a look at the Japanese trailer posted above.
