Bangai-O Spirits for the DS
Like its predecessor, Bangai-O spirits is a side-scrolling 2D shooting game designed by the Japanese company, Treasure co. Ltd. (makers of such classics as gunstar heroes and Ikaruga). In the game you are a robot who pilots a well armed mech called Bangai-O throughout a number of stages, where loads of enemies creep in from hidden areas. The robot has the ability to fly but is slightly hindered by the gravitational force.
The robot has seven weapons to fight with and can use a hard-hitting baseball bat or a razor-sharp sword to attack its enemy with some melee action. You can momentarily stop everything on your screen with the game’s ‘freeze ability’ feature. This feature will prove to be of help when you want to reposition your mech and fire your missiles. You’ll get a great deal of powers to combat your enemies, who will assuredly be relentlessly attacking you.
The game has 160 levels to explore, but even more levels can be created with the help of an exceptional level editor. Unlike the usual level editors for DS Lite games, Bangai-O Spirits has gone a step further to create a level editor where you can not only delete or add some level of geometry, but also remove some enemies from the battle.
