Zenses Rainforest: Excitement filled Puzzle Action on the DS
Wednesday, March 18th, 2009Zenses Rainforest is a unique and interesting game which surprisingly offers players with simple and relaxing games. There is a huge difference between the normal puzzle games which are throbbing with excitement and fried nerves and the simple and laid back Zenses Rainforest. Rather than get excited and jump around, these unique games say calm down and chill-out.
There are a total of six puzzle games which are a far cry from the battlefields and cosmic planes. They in fact resemble a relaxation spa. Even the environments in Zenses - Rainforest are filled with waterfalls and enchanting palm tress and there is a soft and lilting music playing in the background. Music includes flutes, keyboards and the delicate sounds of water droplets and chirping of birds. Even the puzzles feature relaxing and soothing flowers, pastel rings and stones in contrast to the bold and coloured squares and gems.
As you play the Treasure Spin, you find a grid filled with flowers and stone blocks scattered. Make the flowers tumble around so they touch each other by rotating the grid. Stack Jack is full of different sized coloured rings which drift down the screen in a slow manner. As a player, you have to match them before they reach the bottom of the screen.
In Twist and Turn, you find large stone rings with coloured gems inside. You have to rotate rings and swap gems with just a limited number of moves at your disposal. The subtle game of Flower Board resembles the scrabble, where flowers are used instead of letters. The Solitaire game is where you play around with a set of stones making them move over floating squares.
For lovers of puzzles, this is a wonderful collection where most of the games are simple in concept. A wonderful experience filled with a subdued and calm experience that is almost a lullaby.
