Air Traffic Chaos : Control the Skies on Your DS Lite

Friday, October 31st, 2008

Have you ever thought of directing air traffic? I know it’s definitely stressful to manage air traffic, but here I am not talking about any hectic job. Air Traffic Chaos is an entertaining game with simple controls that allows you to guide the flow of air traffic with great fun.

The gameplay invites you to control and guide the air traffic at a Japanese airport. You enter the shoes of an air traffic controller, engaged in a demanding job at one of the five airports. It’s as simple as that: you just have to follow the basic rules for controlling air traffic. However, Air Traffic Chaos Nintendo DS also has more and better options for adventure-lovers. The higher levels are much more challenging and require concentration. That is probably why this is among the most happening puzzle games of the year.

It is important to understand the organization of every airport, as it will help you to successfully navigate through the different levels of the Air Traffic Chaos. For instance, the Fukuoka airport has a simple layout, whereas the New Chitose and Tokyo International are multifaceted. In the advanced levels, you are required to manage multiple runaways, marked with a difference based on civilian/ military and international/domestic flights.

As per your preference, you can either use the stylus or the D pad to issue commands. First of all, you have to select a plane that you want to control and then go about issuing a desired command.

Flower, Sun, and Rain: A Pack of Action and Adventure

Thursday, October 30th, 2008

After entertaining gamers on the Playstation 2, Flower, Sun and Rain is now ready to show its colours on the DS Lite. A set of 50 new puzzles and a stylus control option are among the two main additions made in the DS version. Developed by Suda51, the game was known as Hana to Taiyou in Japan.

The name might give you an impression of a fairy tale, but it is actually an adventure game that takes you to the island of Los Pass. You neither play as a flower, nor as the personification of the Sun or the Rain. So what is the logic behind the name? Flower, Sun, and Rain is actually the name of the hotel, where all gameplay takes place. You play as Mondo Sumio, a private detective, who has to find the truth behind the mystifying happenings on the island. Gamers can expect to see some great graphics with the 3D exploration inside the hotel, as well as in the outdoors. The adventure puzzle takes you around the island as you need to question the residents to solve the mystery.

Offering the fun of action, adventure and puzzle-solving together, the game is remarkably entertaining. The versatility of Flower, Sun and Rain Nintendo DS allows you to set missions, enjoy the side quests and also select costumes for Mondo. So be ready to monitor the skills of Mondo Sumio in solving the puzzles of a fun-filled adventure.

Tuesday, October 28th, 2008

If you are still untouched by the craze of playing music games, then Rock Revolution - a new game by Konami might surely revolutionise your position. Konami seems intent on bringing back the rock rhythm games to various consoles including your favourite DS Lite.

A player can create his own melodies by using the stylus to play the instruments while inputing his voice through the DS microphone. To give you the feel and approach a real rock singer, Rock Revolution allows you to play with the drums and guitars and sing out your heart to match the rhythm. It is actually like getting a complete rock package in a video game. Moreover, an image of a guitar will accompany you onscreen when you are playing the instrument. Using the stylus, you can move the guitar to the inner circle for the guitarist to play it. With the bass, you have to play any one out of the four strings that horizontally appear across the screen.

Like a real-life story of a rock star, the game will let you taste success after putting in some hardwork. Your rock band begins in the basement of a friend’s house and slowly proceeds to the main stage. You will follow a list of some great tracks like “Detroit Rock City” and “Spoonman” to move through different levels. If you are too lazy to actually play the songs, then you can enjoy them on the Rock Revolution Media Player.

A fine variety of songs and engrossing gameplay allows you to spend some time in testing your musical skills or rather letting you live a secret ambition.

Follow the Rhythm with Princess on Ice

Friday, October 24th, 2008

Sports themes have always been popular among the gaming crowd. The Princess on Ice game by Sega, which is based on the exciting sport of ice skating, is another example of this fact. Published by 505 Games and developed by Arc System Works, the single-player game centres around controlling the acts of four young ice dancers.

All four dancers, namely, Madison, Alyssa, Kelly and Gabrielle entertain you with their different dancing styles. They jump, spin and show the best of their talent to win the Princess on Ice Tournament. The gamers will accompany the youthful dancers in their journey on Princess on Ice as they try to become recognised dancers. They dance their way to stadiums and the most happening dance event. The stylus controls allow the players to shape the destiny of the girls by following their dance prompts on the screen.

Your part is not only limited to the dance, as you also have to customize the looks of these skaters. With so many clothing options available in the game, you can dress up the girls in your way to give them a perfect appearance. Pretty girls will surely love doing this! However, even the most wonderful attire and look has no use if they don’t dance well. So you need to be careful about their moves, which are visible on the upper screen. You also have to be cautious about the heat meter, because a stumble can make them loose upon their points.

Follow the performers and test their dancing skills to decide whether they deserve the title of ‘Princess on Ice’.

Play Arkanoid DS Style

Wednesday, October 22nd, 2008

If you enjoy controlling Vaus in the classical arcade games, then you can now experience the same fun on your DS Lite console. Developed by Taito, Arkanoid has proven itself to be a timeless game. The Arkanoid DS is the DS version of this action genre, which offers the original gameplay with all new features. Isn’t it great to have the traditional game in a new form? One of the most admirable features of Arkanoid DS is its attractive soundtrack by Zuntata, the award-winning team of Taito.

Gamers can play 140 different levels with an option of three different modes, specially designed to cater the different tastes. The vibrant colours of the environment actually make the collection of points much more interesting. The most outstanding part of the Arkanoid is, of course, the Clear mode of the Arkanoid, which takes the form of the Quest mode. For smooth and uninterrupted gameplay, it is better to avoid the D-pad and stick to the stylus. However, if you really miss the paddle, the only option for you is to import one. So if you have to hit the same blocks with the same bat, where is the difference? Actually, the real variation lies in the fast speed of Arkanoid DS.

Arkanoid DS is there to bring back the magic of the good old video game on your DS Lite screen. The game is as exciting as it used to be 20 years back and you will have great fun designing the block patterns at a faster pace.
