Final Fantasy VI: the Warring Triad

Thursday, July 17th, 2008

The legendary Final Fantasy series has been one of PlayStation’s most successful franchises. So why shouldn’t it also be a hit on Sony’s arch nemesis Nintendo’s DS Lite? The latest Final Fantasy DS Lite game is known as Final Fantasy VI: the Warring Triad.

The warring triads, in the game, are stone sculptures that contain the power of the three goddesses Demon, Fiend and goddess. These warring triads are also called statues. These three goddesses were relentlessly in conflict to prove who was the most powerful among them. Their conflict led to the creation of a few unstable magical beings which later ruined the whole world.

The game has an interesting plot with many excellent animated playable characters. It involves everything from plotting to fighting with the enemies over the magical powers the statues possess, and the excitement is sure to make your heart race. The gameplay is very similar to other DS Lite Final Fantasy titles, such as Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings. But one thing in the story is very important: make sure the statues do not lose their balance, for if the statues are ever moved out of their balance the result would change the face of the world.

Final Fantasy VI: the Warring Triad finally brings the exciting Final Fantasy experience to the DS Lite and does so very well.

Mario, Sonic and You at the Olympic Games

Wednesday, July 16th, 2008

Nintendo DS Lite players can now participate in the 2008 Olympic Games. That’s certainly not a false statement. But let me complete my statement by specifying that Ds Lite players can participate by playing one of the characters in the game ‘Mario and Sonic at the Olympic games’. I really didn’t mean to break your heart by telling the truth. But I am sure that even this piece of news has made you ecstatic, now that you can load this game onto your DS Lite. It is the first official video game of the 2008 Summer Olympics games.

The backdrop of the game shows the actual venues of the Olympic Games which is to be held this year in Beijing. There are a total of twenty events in Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games (Nintendo DS), which are divided into eight different classifications: athletics, gymnastics, shooting, rowing, archery, aquatics, fencing, table tennis and boxing. The game play involves utilizing a combination of the stylus and button controls on DS Lite to complete each event, which may require speed, timing and strategy.

The player can assume the role as one of these characters while competing against the other characters in numerous Olympic as well as fantasy events. So get ready for some real Olympic action on your DS.

Oops! It’s an Emergency

Wednesday, July 16th, 2008

So, you are going on an impromptu vacation, you are on the flight and you’re getting bored. What better time to take out your cool DS Lite for company? But then you realize that it’s not charged and the charger is inside your suitcase. So does that mean you have to spend the entire flight with nothing to do, sitting next to annoying or bad smelling passengers? Not to worry, because the DS Lite comes to your rescue with its emergency charger. As the name says it can be used in emergencies when your DS Lite runs out of charge. It is a small portable charger which you can take anywhere with you.

This emergency charger uses four rechargeable or standard batteries. With this you don’t have to wait for your DS lite to get charged, like with the ordinary Logic 3 DSL611 charger; instead merely plug it in and get started. It possesses a 5 LED charge indicator to show the amount of battery charge remaining.

This charger has a small USB port to connect to other devices. It would boost up your DS Lite and allow you to play your favorite game for as long as you want. It won’t occupy much space and is ideal for long journeys. There is nothing worse than having battery running out while you are on the move. But with this emergency charger you don’t have to loose any sleep worrying whether or not you fully charged your DS Lite.

Play Guitar Hero on your DS Lite

Tuesday, July 15th, 2008

Nintendo DS Lite is an incredible combination of technology and entertainment. After reaching unparalleled heights of success on other consoles, the extremely popular Guitar Hero has now made its way to the DS Lite. Guitar Hero is a game which lets you play the guitar on screen just like a real guitar. It is controlled by a wraparound controller, which gets attached to the back of DS Lite from outside. This is done to make it feel like you are actually playing a real guitar. It also has a hand strap to make sure you don’t accidentally drop your prized DS Lite while playing.

The game has already had amazing success on the PS2, PS3, Nintendo Wii, and Xbox 360. There were some concerns whether a handheld would be able to effectively implement the unique controlling system, but the DS Lite version easily quells any doubts. This wraparound attached to the DS Lite makes you hold it like a book. You hit the four frets with your left hand fingers while strumming the touchscreen on the right. It will practically feel as if you are really strumming on an actual guitar. However, because the buttons on the wraparound cannot be played with your right hand, any left handers will have to learn to play right handed or face disappointment. So play the music aloud, dance and feel like a rock star. Just don’t drop the DS Lite while you are hitting the notes.

Thursday, July 10th, 2008

The Nintendo DS Lite gets a Japanese touch with the all new game “Splinter Cell Chaos Theory”. The action adventure game is centered around the American character Sam Fisher, who is a special agent sent to the front lines of the information war.

The game becomes interesting as the story proceeds with Sam being sent deep into hostile territory to collect intelligence just inches from his worst enemies. Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell 3: Chaos Theory (Nintendo DS) is a must have for your NDS Lite gaming console. The graphics are amazing and the multiplayer mode is also fun. The aim of the protagonist is to accomplish the mission objectives by killing the enemy with a close range knife, shooting with a high tech rifle and using radical suppression techniques. In the game there are intelligent enemies that make your mission more risky as you get closer to them. It has multi-paths and optional secondary objectives. You can also rank yourself with the all new post-mission statistics and scoring system. The players can execute some amazing moves like ring airfoil, sticky cam, and sticky shocker. Sunday, July 6th, 2008

With a black cover and a white cardboard box inside, we are indeed talking about Revolution 4 flash kits for all the Nintendo DS Lite users. R4’s packaging is not too impressive when compared to other flash kits, which are uniquely packed in wooden or tin boxes, but its contents will surely please you. It includes an R4 DS cart, replacement shell, mini CD-ROM that has all the installation instructions available in English and Chinese, five firmwares with different skins, Micro SD USB card reader and a Dual DS card case.

The extra available accessories, in addition to the core contents, make it a great deal for the R4 gamers. The freebies are not essential, but getting them anything for free is always nice. The DS cart is very durable and is made up of good quality plastic, which fits perfectly into the console. It has a very smooth surface which looks like an authentic Nintendo flash card. Another good point about the R4 is that it can be loaded in the Micro SD slot typically used for cards like the PNY microSD Card 2 GB. There is also a minute channel which enables you to remove the Micro SD instead of removing the R4 from your gaming console, which comes in very handy. All these pointers make the R4 an excellent purchase. So, transform your Nintendo DS Lite into a supersonic gaming console with Revolution 4.
